Invokana Side Effects Lawsuit

The Willis Law Firm is representing Invokana and Invokamet patients that have suffered serious injuries after taking these Type 2 diabetes drugs. Invokana side effects cases we are investigating include:

Invokana and Invokamet entered the market in 2013 and sold under license by Janssen Pharmaceuticals, a division of Johnson & Johnson. Sadly though in two short years 1000's of patients are already starting to experience serious adverse events and other side effects including foot amputations, leg amputations, founier's gangrene, cancer and heart attacks. The FDA has issued a Public Health Advisory linking Invokana to ketoacidosis. Early data has also linked Invokana to kidney failure and increases of heart attacks and strokes. It is believed that if more pre-trial testing had been required by the FDA, then many believe Inkokamet and Invokana would not have reached the market shelves.

Invokana Bladder Cancer?

Recently many Type 2 diabetes drugs have been linked to increased risks of bladder cancer. Of these, Actos was one of the more notorious bladder cancer causing Type 2 diabetic drugs. While there is no official medical study linking increased risks of bladder cancer and Invokana, the Willis Law firm is investigating and consulting with experts regarding the risk of bladder cancer and Invokana due to the inquiries from diabetics taking Invokana with bladder pain, bladder infections and sadly even some being diagnosed bladder cancer. Public Citizen's Health Research Group testified before the FDA and voiced strong opposition to the approval of Farxiga (dapagliflozin) due to the increased risk of diabetic ketoacidosis, kidney failure along with concerns of risks of bladder cancer. Farxiga  and Invokana are both SGLT2 inhibitor drugs and work in similar manner to reduce blood sugar levels by causing glucose to be excreted by the kidneys into the urine. Currently, there is no FDA warning of the increased risks of bladder cancer with use of Invokana or Invokomet or Farxiga, though some medical groups are concerned.
